APWCA SELECT - Evaluation and Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines
SELECT: Evaluation and Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines:
A Guidance Document from the American Professional Wound Care Association

The American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) is pleased to provide the following manuscript “SELECT:  Evaluation and Implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines:  A Guidance Document from the American Professional Wound Care Association

This is a significant addition to the medical literature. Clinical practice guidelines (CPG) are becoming increasingly utilized for wound care centers and other related medical clinics as well as hospitals, long term care facilities, and more.  GPGs can help streamline the management of patients, decrease costs and can be effective at times in decreasing liability for patient care.  This short manuscript describes a concise method as to how organizations can select, implement and then reassess effectiveness of a clinical practice guideline.  It can be an extremely useful tool for any organization considering using CPG.  This manuscript is copyrighted and authored by the APWCA.  It was originally published in Advances in Skin and Wound Care – The International Journal for Prevention and Healing, Volume 23, Number 4, April, 2010.

APWCA acknowledges Kinetic Concepts Inc (KCI) for the educational grant that allowed for the development of the SELECT Manuscript.
